Biography

Kate Zuckerman is a Business Advisor with Central Virginia SBDC, and principal of Conscious Consults, a consulting and coaching firm serving small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Prior to this, Kate co-owned and operated Blue Ridge Bucha, a local beverage company. From start-up to exit, she was responsible for every aspect of the organization’s strategy and operations, with a focus on human resources, marketing, public relations, administration, and business development. Under her leadership, the company grew to a team of 20+ people, regional distribution across 9 states, 300+ accounts, $1M in annual sales, and over 1 million bottles saved through its refillable bottle program. Additional experience includes founding and serving as start-up Executive Director of a local nonprofit; co-directing a yoga teacher training institute; and serving in Visitor Services Management at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Kate is fluent in Spanish, holds a BA in Latin American Studies from Pitzer College, and earned a Masters Certificate in Social Justice from Harvard University’s Extension School.
