Cooking for Crowds

We invite you to join us for Cooking for Crowds on November 1 from 9 AM – 12 PM at the Carver Food Enterprise Center.  If you “Cook for a Crowd” with your church or vouth group, rescue squad, fire department, band or athletic boosters or other non-profit organization, then this class is for you!  Learn how to reduce food safety risks when cooking large volumes of food for the public. Make sure that the food you prepare and serve is not only delicious, but safe!  This course will include classroom lessons and hands-on food preparation practice.   All participants will earn a Cooking for Crowds Certificate at the end of day while contributing to a pumpkin-themed farm to school dish. 

This program is open to those 16 years and older and is free for all participants thanks to support from the Northern Piedmont Community Foundation. 

To register, please fill out the form below.  Please note that we have limited space in this program, so please only sign up if you are fully committed to actively participating in both the classroom and food preparation portions of the day.

Please note that the certification offered through this program is geared towards food handlers and nonprofits.  We do also offer ServSafe Manager trainings for those that need a Certified Food Protection Manager Certification.  If you need the Manager certification, more details on those course offerings through VCE can be found at the link below:
