Charlottesville Angel Network

Learn a red-flags approach to startup investing due diligence from CAN general counsel Craig Redinger. Hybrid with limited in-person seats.

The session will provide an overall framework for CAN deal leads, associates, investors, and entrepreneurs to understand the angel investment process, from initial analysis of an opportunity to the closing of an investment. Students, startup and aspiring founders are welcome to attend.

The training will cover (i) due diligence, how it is done, issues on which to focus, specific information on typical pitfalls, taking the “red flag” approach, (ii) deal terms, debt/equity terms, effect of common investment vehicles, term sheets, capitalization issues, etc., and (iii) concrete steps and insights in moving from term sheet to closing.

Training will be led by Craig Redinger, CAN’s general counsel, along with special guests. CAN offers this training a few times per year, always gratis, to CAN members and the startup and investment ecosystem.

Hybrid with limited in-person seats. A light dinner will be provided for in-person attendees.

Free.
