Multi-Agency SBIR/STTR Overview

Join this full-day training and learn if your technology company is eligible for non-dilutive federal funding through the government’s SBIR/STTR programs. We’ll cover the SBIR/STTR program basics including what they fund, which federal agencies participate and how to know if you’re eligible. We’ll review the differences between Granting agencies and Contracting agencies and how to craft a proposal that meets the mission and requirements of the chosen agency.

8:30 am Welcome from Center for Innovative Technology

8:40 am ABC’s of SBIR/STTR – Megan Varnum, Ph.D. — Find out about how these two programs can provide a source of R&D funding between the initial development of your innovative idea and proof that it has potential in the marketplace. We’ll cover SBIR/STTR eligibility requirements, participating agencies, the differences between SBIR and STTR and more.

10:15 am SBIR/STTR Granting Agencies Overview – Megan Varnum, Ph.D. — This session will discuss the essential information needed for crafting a proposal that meets the mission of SBIR/STTR granting

agencies. Learn the key elements for NIH and NSF SBIR/STTR programs and Phase II funding.

11:45 am 30-minute lunch break

12:15 pm SBIR/STTR with Contracting Agencies – Jerry Hollister — Contracting agencies are looking to procure service or technology that will benefit the government. This session will review the contracting agencies and the essential information needed for crafting a proposal that meets the mission of SBIR/STTR contracting agencies, like DoD.

1:45 pm Final Q&A
