SUMMARY:Federal Contracts: Proposal Writing
DESCRIPTION:This course will help you gain an understanding of why proposals do or do not win\, and show you how to make an educated decision to bid or not to bid\, analyze the RFP\, and develop a proposal schedule to deliver the proposal on time. This workshop also provides an overview of the proposal development process and key tasks that a government proposal manager needs to accomplish. \nREGISTER\n\n\nJoin Lisa Wood\, Director of the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC)\, for this informative presentation – a “must” for those who are considering the Federal Government contracting market and want to learn how to prepare for/navigate this huge potential market.  \nLisa is the Statewide Director of the Virginia Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC) hosted by George Mason University. Prior to that\, she served as the Statewide Director with the Connecticut and Ohio PTAC programs and was also Director for the Northwest Commission PTAC in Pennsylvania. Before joining the PTAC community\, Lisa was a Procurement Specialist for Bechtel Plant Machinery\, Inc. in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. In this role\, Wood performed contract administration and negotiation duties. She also recommended bidders\, handled issue inquiries\, negotiated bids\, performed cost and price analysis\, and prepared comprehensive letters to justify recommended contract actions.  Ms. Wood holds an MBA from the University of New Haven and a BSBA through Robert Morris University of Pittsburgh where she is also pursuing her PhD in Instructional Management and Leadership. \nREGISTER

DESCRIPTION:This course explores practical navigation through QuickBooks Online Plus using a multimedia/practical demo of the system.\nDuring this three hour workshop\, you will learn how QuickBooks Online can benefit your business\, which product level is best for you and how to set up your company and chart of accounts. \nYou will also learn how to navigate the QuickBooks system\, including: \n\n\n\nIntegrating bank feeds\nPerforming bank reconciliations\nManaging users\nCreating custom forms\nEntering sales and expense transactions\nProducing standard reports\nManaging product inventory and services\, payroll\, projects\,\nProducing reports\n\n\n\nFinally\, you will learn how to work with your accountant or bookkeeper from within the system\, and more! \n\nPre-requisite: Using QuickBooks Online in your business for at least one month is recommended. If you are considering QuickBooks Online for your business\, you may also participate. It will help you decide\, and you can do the exercises in the test company. \nDeliverable: Following the course\, you will receive a 140-page PDF student reference manual mirroring the topics covered. \nRequired equipment: Laptop computer (Windows or Mac with the minimum operating system requirements*).  A mobile device is not sufficient for this class. However\, if you wish\, you can have the Zoom meeting on a mobile device and the QuickBooks Online test company on a computer with a Chrome browser.\nWiFi:  If you do not have reliable internet\, please email: events@cvsbdc and we will share a location in your area where you can participate without interruption.
